Activated Silk™ Hydrogels are high-powered multi-multi-multi function ingredient, thanks to their innovative 
molecular structure – a highly novel proteoglycan structure created from our Activated Silk™ biotechnology platform. Activated Silk™ Hydrogels bind water, bind oil and bind to keratin to provide 24-hour hydration to skin on par with mid and high molecular weight HA, without the need to homogenize to hydrate or the associated stickiness and tackiness. For hair, they have the ability to powerfully repair split-ends, control frizz, provide curl retention and heat protection and deliver smoothness, softness and shine. For both skin and haircare, hydrogels can be applied in rinse-away products, thanks to their keratin-binding ability. Activated Silk™ Hydrogels also offer powerful emulsification, forming stable emulsions with up to 50% oil, and provide a wide range of rheologies and sensorialities that can be modulated by both does of hydrogel and percentage of oil.
